*The Specifics

This family is seeking a warm, reliable, and nurturing nanny to care for their two young daughters, ages two years and four months at the time of start. They are a communicative, calm, and down-to-earth household that values consistency, kindness, and a child-centered approach to caregiving. Safety awareness is a top priority, and the ideal nanny will be well-versed in safe sleep practices, choking prevention, and infant and child CPR. Patience and emotional attunement are essential, as the family is looking for someone who can calmly support their toddler through big feelings and tantrums while providing loving, responsive care to their infant. Strong communication skills are equally important, including providing daily updates on naps, meals, moods, and milestones, as well as feeling comfortable asking questions and being transparent.

The nanny will help support daily routines around naps, meals, and activities, offering structure without rigidity and understanding that flexibility is sometimes needed with young children. Engagement is highly valued, and the family hopes to find someone who plans age-appropriate, enriching activities that support development and curiosity; an early childhood education background is a welcome bonus. In addition to general childcare, responsibilities include light child-related housekeeping such as maintaining children’s spaces, completing children’s laundry, preparing lunches, managing toy rotations, and keeping bedrooms organized. The parents both work from home most of the time and have separate offices, so comfort working alongside parents in the home is essential. The mother nurses their youngest and is looking for a nanny who views the role as a collaborative partnership.

The household is generally calm and organized, with routines that support the children’s needs while remaining responsive and flexible. They spend their free time exploring local restaurants, parks, bookstores, and kid-friendly outings, reflecting the family’s active and engaged lifestyle. The two-year-old has an oat allergy, so attentiveness to dietary needs and safety is required. The home also includes two very friendly cats.

Above all, the family is hoping to welcome a positive, nurturing, and emotionally steady nanny who is child-focused, communicative, and excited to grow with their family while helping their children feel safe, understood, and supported.
