*The Specifics
A loving family of three in Upper Arlington is seeking a warm, reliable, and engaging part-time nanny for their 4½-year-old daughter beginning in September. Their daughter will be attending PreK half days from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and they are looking for a nanny to provide care in the afternoons from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. (with flexibility to stay until 5:30 p.m. if possible). The role will include picking their daughter up from preschool and transporting her home, followed by afternoon childcare.
The family describes themselves as loyal, flexible, open, conscientious, kind, outgoing, and busy. Both parents work hybrid schedules and will each be in the office about four days a week starting this fall, with one to two days a week spent working from home in a dedicated office space. Their daughter is an energetic and confident little girl who is outgoing, assertive, and full of ideas about how she wants to spend her time. She enjoys reading, dancing, arts and crafts, and outdoor play, and thrives when engaged in creative, hands-on activities. The ideal nanny will be someone patient, calm, and even-keeled, who can provide balance to her high energy with a steady and thoughtful approach.
The family values patience, empathy, and reliability. They hope to find a nanny who will actively engage their daughter, introduce fun and creative activities, and occasionally plan simple outings. Someone who comes prepared with fresh ideas—whether it’s stickers, painting projects, or imaginative play will be a wonderful fit. Punctuality is very important, as well as clear communication with the parents.
Because their daughter has severe, life-threatening allergies to cashews and pistachios, as well as asthma, the nanny must be extremely attentive and safety-conscious at all times. This role does not require housekeeping or meal preparation beyond light tidying up after play and helping to keep toys organized. The family’s top priority is ensuring their daughter is safe, engaged, and cared for with warmth and consistency.
They have been fortunate to have had the same nanny for more than four years, who has become a beloved part of their lives. As her needs change, the family is now seeking their next nanny who will bring the same sense of trust, reliability, and care. For the right person, this is an opportunity to build a lasting bond and truly become part of their family’s support system.
