*The Specifics
A warm, respectful, and close-knit family in Clintonville is seeking a part-time nanny for the month of June to assist with afternoon and early evening care for their 10-year-old daughter. The position is Monday through Friday from 3:00pm to 7:00pm and includes a blend of childcare, household support, and pet care. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with school-aged children, values open communication and is confident managing day-to-day responsibilities in a busy household.
The family is looking for a kind, reliable, and proactive individual who can help ensure smooth afternoons during a full and active summer. Responsibilities include picking up their daughter from camp, helping her transition into her evening routine, and occasionally driving her to or from soccer practice. The ideal candidate will be someone who connects well with older children—someone engaging, respectful, and capable of creating a calm and supportive after-camp environment.
In addition to childcare, light household duties will be part of the role. This may include grocery shopping, basic dinner prep, errand-running (such as prescription pick-up), and helping anticipate needs around the home. The nanny will also walk the family’s well-trained German Shepherd/Black Lab mix, Frank. Comfort around animals is a must, as the family also has two friendly cats, Billy and Maxie.
The household has a few dietary considerations: both dad and their daughter are lactose intolerant and generally avoid dairy products, with the exception of small amounts of cheese. The family also prefers to eat gluten-free when possible, although it is not due to an allergy.
Dad works long hours as an attorney, and mom manages both the household and teaches at Ohio State University. Their daughter has full camp days, frequent soccer practices, and an overall active lifestyle.
On weekends, the family enjoys quality time together—going for long walks with Frank, cooking at home, spending time with extended family, or heading out for fun outings like duck bowling at PINS.
The ideal nanny for this family will be nurturing, organized, and confident in taking initiative. They are looking for someone who will step in as a helpful presence, support their family’s routines, and be a kind, steady part of their daughter's summer experience.
