*The Specifics

A calm, kind, and busy family is seeking a reliable, energetic, and organized full-time nanny to join their household. The family consists of two physician parents (OB/GYN and orthopedics) and their two young sons. Their older son (3 years old) attends preschool in the mornings and daycare in the afternoons, requiring transportation to school each morning. The nanny’s primary focus will be on providing full-time care for their younger son, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.

The position typically requires availability from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., though some days may start later and end earlier. Flexibility is essential, as the parents’ schedules can shift due to their on-call work. The family will guarantee a minimum of 40 hours per week, with most weeks requiring closer to 45–50 hours. Extra support from family is available, but the nanny will play a key role in maintaining consistency and structure throughout the week.

In addition to childcare, the nanny will be responsible for helping with light household tasks, including the children’s laundry, emptying the dishwasher, and occasional grocery shopping and errands. They have an 18-pound mini golden doodle who may need occasional walks and a friendly short-haired cat that requires no additional care.

The family thrives on routine and structure but maintains a laid-back and lighthearted atmosphere at home. They follow a gentle parenting approach, emphasizing emotional awareness, positive reinforcement, and open communication. They believe in discussing feelings to help their children understand behavior and develop coping skills. No yelling is permitted in the household, and the parents value a calm and respectful environment.

Their 3-year-old son is energetic and very social, so the family seeks a nanny who is active, outgoing, and playful. Someone who enjoys engaging in creative play, outdoor activities, and age-appropriate learning opportunities will be a great fit. Strong communication skills are critical, as the family’s schedule can be demanding and requires flexibility and clear updates throughout the day.

The ideal candidate will be dependable, punctual, and able to take initiative in both childcare and household tasks. A warm, patient demeanor and a sense of humor will go a long way in building a trusting relationship with both the parents and the children. The family hopes to find a long-term nanny who will become an integral part of their home, providing stability and loving care as their children grow.

The family values spending time together, especially outdoors, and they enjoy relaxing at home, traveling, and cheering for Ohio State football. They are looking for a nanny who will become part of this dynamic, fun-loving household while helping to keep things running smoothly.
