*The Specifics
This loving and active family is seeking a professional, experienced nanny to care for their two young boys, ages three and nearly two, who are just fourteen months apart. The nanny will play an integral role in supporting both toddlers during this energetic and developmentally important stage. Mom will be home most of the time, so the ideal candidate is comfortable working alongside parents and collaborating as a true partner in the household. There will also be days when the family plans outings such as trips to COSI, the zoo, or the pool—where the nanny will join and assist with care.
The family is a screen-free household and is looking for a high-energy nanny who is fully engaged, interactive, and enthusiastic about hands-on play. Daily responsibilities will include leading age-appropriate activities such as crafts, reading, flashcards, and games that support learning colors, numbers, letters, and early problem-solving skills. The youngest still naps and occasionally B (3 years) naps. Experience navigating typical toddler dynamics, such as sharing, redirection, and helping children work through big feelings, is essential.
The parents practice gentle parenting while maintaining clear rules and boundaries, and they are seeking someone who can enforce expectations consistently while modeling kindness, respect, and calm communication. Affection is important in their home, as the boys are very loving and enjoy hugs and close connection. The family values a nanny who can grow with them long-term, as they plan to homeschool in the future and participate in a homeschool co-op. Longevity, commitment, and genuine passion for childcare are key qualities they hope to find.
This role is primarily childcare-focused, with light child-related tasks such as cleaning up the boys’ dishes, tidying play areas, and occasional folding of children’s laundry. The family has a dedicated playroom in the basement and encourages active play, creativity, and exploration. They welcome a nanny who feels confident redirecting behavior and keeping the boys engaged throughout the day. While not required, the ability to speak Arabic would be a wonderful bonus, as the family is culturally diverse.
Both parents are involved and communicative, with mom working from a separate upstairs office and dad owning and expanding his own business. They are open to the nanny’s ideas on how to create a successful work-from-home dynamic and value open, respectful communication. Occasional travel with the family may be offered but is not required. The family also has one dog, so comfort with pets is important. Above all, they are excited to welcome a warm, capable, and loving nanny who will become a trusted part of their children’s lives for years to come.
