*The Specifics

This warm and busy family is seeking a long-term, professional nanny to care for their two young children, a 3-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy. The 3 year old is in alternating part-time or full day preschool. With dad working as a physician and mom working from her home office they are looking for a reliable, calm, and confident caregiver who can bring peace and stability during a very full season of life. The ideal nanny is patient, proactive, and skilled at balancing the needs of both a toddler and a preschooler.

The nanny’s mornings will start with helping the children get up, fed, and dressed for the day. There may be a need to occasionally transport G(3 years) to preschool in the future. During the day, the nanny will care for the 1-year-old, planning activities that are stimulating, creative, and developmentally appropriate. The family tries to incorporates Montessori and RIE philosophies, follows respectful parenting approaches such as those from How to Talk So Kids Will Listen, and encourages hands-on learning through play, nature, and real-world experiences. The family is seeking someone who would like to grow with the family for multiple years to come.

This is a family that loves spending time outdoors, exploring arts, animals, and culture, and introducing their children to new cuisines—their preschooler’s current favorite restaurant is Kura revolving sushi. Their ideal nanny would be someone who enjoys outdoor adventures, neighborhood walks, trips to parks, and creative activities that go beyond screens, keeping the children engaged and curious.

Household support related to the children is an important part of this role. Responsibilities will include children’s laundry, keeping the kitchen clean after meals, unloading dishes, tidying play areas and bedrooms, washing children’s bedding once a week, restocking essentials, and assisting with basic meal prep such as chopping produce or boiling pasta. In addition, the nanny may be asked to provide occasional evening coverage for a monthly date night.

The ideal candidate will be dependable, communicative with parents, and confident in caring for both age groups at the same time. They will bring creativity and patience to daily routines, explain things clearly to the children, and redirect with kindness when needed.

This is a long-term role for someone who sees nannying as a true profession and takes pride in being both a caregiver and a teammate to the family. The right person will bring warmth, steadiness, and joy into the household while supporting the children’s growth and creating a sense of calm in the midst of busy days.
