*The Specifics

This family considers themselves to be informal, busy, and fun. Their family consists of  two school-age girls, G (11.5) who is in the sixth grade, and G (10) who is in the fifth grade, their dog (a border collie) and their cat. This position will be partly family assistant and nanny. Their needs are primarily for afternoon and evenings hours during the school year to help out with things around the house and picking the girls up from school (or get them off the school bus) and help with after-school activities, appointments, snacks and dinner for girls and prepping the girls for the next school day.  This position runs through the school year (mid-to late May).

Their ideal nanny would be patient, a good role model, respectful of others, safe, attentive, and kind. Cleanliness and flexibility are also important. They are seeking a nanny who is active and engaging. They would love for their nanny to take the girls on fun outings around Columbus like the Zoo, library, parks, etc. They believe in communicating with their children frequently, taking their thoughts, feelings, and options into consideration while also setting clear rules and expectations and following through.  The nanny will be asked to help with errands (pick up groceries usually ordered by Mom), prep and run kids to appointments and practices, light housework (i.e., empty dishwasher, occasionally use stick vac to clean up crumbs and tumbleweeds--they have regular housecleaners), take trash/recycling to garage cans, occasionally feed pets (but this is really the kids responsibility!), assist with laundry (folding and putting away kids clothes), carpooling (occasionally needed for kids’ sports), prep kids for school the following day, enforce/help with homework, trips to library and parks. G (11.5) is very smart, driven and LOVES to read.  She's also their athlete and is already 5’8”! She is very mature for her age and generally very responsible. She has a great group of friends who are all in the gifted program at school. G (10) is 2E, which is a designation for a child who is ADHD but also scores high cognitively.  She sees a specialist once a week that works with her on executive functioning skills. She will rattle off a million facts about frogs but sometimes forgets to brush her hair.  She loves rainbows, unicorns and butterflies.

Mom and Dad are both attorneys and often work long hours but coordinate with the nanny for after school activities and pickups and drop-offs when there is schedule conflict. They divide and conquer with their nanny. In their free time, they love like to spend time at home and enjoy being outside. They have 3.5 acres and a ravine in the back. This makes for some fun creeking! They are very excited to meet their new nanny/family assistant and want them to be an extension of the family!
